Auckland BJJ Combatives Training Session 2

We are moving into our back attack curriculum this week.   The goal is working from mount position. when the opponent tries to roll out the back is taken.  If the person in the back mount starts to escape then the remount technique is put into action.

Auckland Kids BJJ Combatives - Curriculum: Enrolment is Open!

We are in the beginning of our Combative training system.

Guideline #1: Street Applicability
Focus only on practicing techniques that are street applicable.

Guideline #2 Energy Efficiency
Any technique that relies on speed and power rather than leverage timing is not energy efficient.

Guideline #3 Natural Body Movements
Any technique that requires you to move your body unnaturally is likely to fail in the heat of battle.  Natural body movement is the best foundation on which to build instinctive reflexes needed in a real fight.

Winter training at its finest

We've been enjoying the cold weather in the dojo.  We've been working the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu self Defense Curriculum!

We've  started with grip breaking then headlock escapes.  Then moved to single, double and leg hook takedowns.  our next techniques are escaping a bear hug from behind.  We all had a great time practicing our art.
