With all the interest from families wanting to join our school, I've taken the decision to add a third day to our training roster.
Starting Wednesday the 25th of March
Times:
4:00pm to 4:50pm for the 5 to 7 year old students.
5:00pm to 6:00pm for the 8 and up students.
This means we have 3 days a week for Jiu Jitsu classes!

Saturday Super Rolling Session
Our youngest students work hard on learning the hip bump sweep. A few more class and they will have it nailed. We ended their session with a fun hopping game. All were tried at the end.
Our senior class was introduced to the arm drag. More time is needed for this one. We changed gears and did in introduction to the single leg using teep kick to the thigh to setup the entry. Everyone got the final bit of the take down. We still need to perfect the footwork.
Our rolling session was epic. Everyone displayed a level of technique that surprised me. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the boys and girls show off what the have learnt. I'm equally impressed with the students that rolled with much smaller and newer students. I'm proud to see that you rolled to their level. That's what it's all about. Give a little take a little and learn a lot! No bullying partners in our sessions. Great work team!

Tuesday Training Report - Jiu Jitsu Self Defense class
Our first class worked on learning the basic closed guard position. We progressed into showing them how to pull their opponent down with their legs, grabbing their neck and body to protect themselves from punches. Everyone picked up the concept quickly. We moved into learning their first sweep from guard. The hip bump sweep! We will be working more on the sweep in upcoming classes. Great work and excellent focus from my juniors. Well done.
Our senior students started on a choke defense whist being pushed against a wall. This will be the first self defense technique where they get to use a strike! We have a very powerful knee strike which has been borrowed from Mauy Thai. Khao Chiang which translates to diagonal knee strike. The team loved this one. We will be bringing pads soon so they can get used to striking with power whilst maintaining their balance. We all had a lot of fun learning this self defense technique.
Here's a big thank you to the students that stayed after and helped clean the mats.

Sensational Saturday on the mats
What a great group of kids today. Our Junior class had fantastic focus and really enjoyed the non-stop action during the class. The games at the end were fun and aimed at everyone's fitness and coordination.
Our senior class now has a firm grasp of the take down we've been working on. We'll be moving onto different techniques in the weeks to come.
Our rolling session was focused on taking an opponent to the ground and mounting them. We used the shark tank to give everyone a go with different size and shape partners. I love watching everyone go hard. Everyone did very well in our rolling session.

Training report
Tuesday's take down class was super awesome! The technique we are working on is starting to look natural and effortless. We should have this take down programmed into to a reflexive drill very soon.
Jiu Jitsu for self defense. Jiu Jitsu for life!
