Ready for level 2

We will be starting classes on Tuesday the 1st of September.

The lesson plan will consist of strength and mobility exercises, whilst maintaining proper distancing.  This will be non contact training.  Our mats are 2 metres long and 1 meter wide which makes it easy to get everyone into a safe distancing space.  We manage the spacing for the parents/caregivers using the mats as our guide.

We have plenty of hand sanitizer, soap, hand towels and hot water.  The Govt QR code poster is next to the sign in sheet for everyone to use.

* If you plan on your child/children returning to training this Tuesday and/or Saturday please let me know. *

Class times are:

Tuesday 4:00pm to 4:50pm for Juniors and 5:00pm to 6:00pm for Senior students. Saturday 9:00am to 9:50am and 10:00am to 11:00am.

Hopefully nothing changes in the planning to move to level 2.

Another great workout!

Here's one that's a little easier.  This one hits all the right muscles in our glute area!

One of my favorite ab workouts!

Since we have time on our hands it's a great time to work on the core.  I've been doing this routine every morning since the last lock down.  I couldn't get all the way through it at first.  It took about 2 weeks to make it to the end of the routine.

I'm confident that anyone can do it if they work at it consistently.

New students on deck

Saturday training was a blast.  We had several new students come out and give it a go.  I was amazed by the focus everyone displayed in class.  A big thanks to 2 of our students for being kind helpers with the new entrants. Well done to both of you.

The work learning for both classes today was mount escape and sweeps.  Our Junior class worked the trap, bridge and roll escape.  Once that was looking good they learned the hip bump sweep.  We put the 2 together to make it a flowing drill.  Let's keep up the good work.

Our senior class worked the same mount escape.  We showed 3 sweeps to them to practice as well.  Hip bump, Scissor sweep, and Pendulum sweep.  All of them needed a refresher which is to be expected after such a long break.  Everyone nailed it once they worked the sweeps a few times.

Our first classes of the new term

We had a great start for all of our newcomers.  There was lots of excitement and everyone had a great time.

We worked on the fundamentals with everyone in the Juniors class.  Grip braking and mount escape were the techniques of the day.

Our Senior class worked on a take down that I enjoy a lot.  The Russian Tie!  There are many variations in this take down which makes it very fun to teach and learn.  Everyone did a fantastic job of learning this new take down.
